ISSUE 012 is for the ones that stayed. Who looked at where they are and saw something worth building.
Some people pack up and go chase the industry. They move to LA or NY, because they think that’s the only path to success. And some go on to make it. But the story they want to tell about their culture and where they come from gets watered down into something more palatable for rooms that were never built for them.
This issue centers creatives who bring the industry to them. They find the beauty in where they come from and build something real from it, telling their own story instead of translating it for someone else's consumption, and choosing their own ground over someone else’s stage. Through interviews and visual storytelling, Homegrown explores what it looks like to cultivate your own ground and call it enough.
This is a love letter to the homegrown creatives. To those who see the beauty in where they’re at and cultivate it. ISSUE 012 features 5 creatives building on their own terms, with a cover story on Tiera George of TG Floristry.
